I created the Building a Better Blog boot camp from my years of blogging experience. With all the ups and downs that I’ve gone through. I’ve been on those High highs in those low lows along my blogging journey.
I want to share with you my experience to save you from stumbling and falling down. I know what I needed to do to figure out how to create a successful blog. This is what I want to teach you with this boot camp.
If you’re looking for a blogging tutorial where the person is always positive and telling you just to follow your passion and everything will be okay. This course is not for you. The strategies you will learn in this course are not to be taken lightly.
I like to think of myself as the type of person that likes to put my own spin on things. I like to think that I’m a little bit different than everyone else. This is something that helps me when I’m creating content.
Remember there are hundreds if not thousands of bloggers just like you. You will learn to stand out by being you. Don’t try and copy others or want to be just like them. You want to keep it real and just be yourself.
You only need to have one blog to make the income you desire. Put away the thought that you need several blogs to do this. Focus and concentrate by putting all of your attention and energy on the one blog. Doing this is going to go a long way with your blogging success.
I’ve always enjoyed hearing from people that read my content. I like to know their background and just a little bit about themselves. Let me know why you join this boot camp. Reply back to this email and tell me a little bit about yourself. I would like to know where you’re coming from and understand you more.

The amount of traffic that you get could take you from surviving to thriving with your business

You need to have targeted traffic going to your business every day. Learn how to get an avalanche of traffic to your business. Doing this will give you a much higher probability of converting your prospects into sales. This simply means that you will have more paying customers.
Building A Better Blog – What Am I Going To Write About?
The answer to this question literally depends on whether you want to make money with your blog or not.
One of my biggest mistakes along my blogging journey was thinking that people really want to read what I had to write about. My thinking process was that there are literally hundreds and thousands of bloggers just like me. Therefore I don’t want to write the same thing they’re writing.
I need to come up with my own original content.
Boy was I wrong. Dead wrong.
When I finally figured out the secret. It actually became more enjoyable for me to blog. When I look back it took me a long time to change my idea about my blog content. This is the one I struggled with for the longest time.
My blogging became much easier after learning this little tidbit. Even today when I think about it. I’m still amazed just knowing this one thing has helped get exponential results with my blog.
Read this article if you are struggling with your blog content.
The lesson that I learned here it’s to always have an open mind. One of the things that I do today. Is to always have an empty before starting to learn something that is new. What does simply means is to forget what you have previously learned and taken to heart with an open mind. You need to be able to change for you to grow as a person.
Building A Better Blog – Multiple Revenue Streams
One of the beautiful things about blogging is to be able to earn income from different revenue sources. Most of the time when bloggers are getting started they just focus on earning money from Google AdSense. Although this is one of the revenue streams. But if you like me, you’re going to come to find out that there are bigger and better revenue streams.
It’s important to understand your possibilities for adding additional revenue streams to your blog. The easiest way for you to do this is by coming up with a plan. This isn’t very complicated or doesn’t take much time. The main thing here is you just don’t want to approach this strategy in a haphazard way.
You need to put yourself in a spot where you’re always looking ahead. Try to have a few steps ahead of you planned out. This is going to help keep your momentum going.
If you want to have a profitable blog you need to learn what other revenue sources are available to you and how you can integrate these into your blogging world.
Building A Better Blog – Know Your Audience
Who are you writing this blog for anyway? Is it for you or your audience?
This is a very crucial thing you need to understand every time you go to write your blog post. People don’t come to your blog to know about you. They are coming to your blog because they want to learn. You need to always keep in mind to offer the value that will help your readers.
They should always become a better person by reading your blog.
I like to always keep this in the back of my head. Your audience has the what’s in it for me mentality. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that. This is why they’ve come to seek you out. You have a blog Therefore you are the one with experience.
The better you know your audience. The better you are going to get at providing content for them. try to remember that a blog post is not a shout fest. The blog is a two-way street. provide areas in your blog that will allow them to engage. Simply ask them questions. You can learn a lot from their answers. Your answers will also dictate the type of content you need to provide on your blog.
As you are going on your blogging journey. Pay close attention to what your audience is doing and saying. You need to understand their struggles which will allow you to find the right content to write about.
Building A Better Blog – Your Own Sales Funnel
If you’re selling anything. And I mean selling anything at all.
You need a sales funnel. Having a sales funnel for your products or services is a must.
The number one function a sales funnel is to take the prospect and turn them into a paying customer.
A sales funnel can look entirely different from one business to the next. With that being said. They may look completely different but still have a lot of strategies in common between them.
There are different stages that you will take your prospect through that will allow them to get to know you and also increase an interest in your products or services that you are selling.
You want to think of your sales funnel as a first impression. I know both you and I know how important first impressions are. This is why you want to take the time to learn how to do it right.
Having the right sales funnel is a great way to warm that prospect up before they see your products and services.
You’re going to learn about the many aspects of the sales funnel.
Building A Better Blog – Your Email Opt-in Depend On The Success Of Your Blog
You and I have been going over a lot of very important things for your blog. It may seem to you that we haven’t talked about a single thing about blogging. If you want to make money with your blog. These are the things you have to know.
Before starting your blogging journey. You need to create a solid foundation. That’s what we’re doing right now. Think of big buildings. If they didn’t have a solid foundation. They would just simply topple over.
You don’t want this to happen with your blog.
Another tool you will need for your blog is an email opt-in. This allows you to collect the visitors personal information like an email address. When you have their email address you can start marketing to them through email.
Having an email list is a great way to keep reminding people who you are and what you are about. Email is a great way to build up a relationship with your readers.
Using email you can express yourself in the way you feel fit. This is a great way to stand out in the crowd of bloggers. You want to be able to write your emails using your personality.
First you need people on your list.
The way that you need to do this is by knowing how to create the right opt-in form to have people sign up to your list. It’s important to know how to create your own lead magnet to entice people to opt into your list .

Building A Better Blog – Finding A Home For Your Blog
Now we have to find a home for your blog. This is known as your web hosting company. There are literally thousands of choices to choose from on the internet. Like every home it needs an address. This is known as your domain.
Your mission is to find a home for your internet and scour the internet for web hosting companies. The two companies that I recommend are siteground and Bluehost. I personally use Bluehost right now. When I was doing my research I found that a lot of bloggers use siteground.
One of the biggest mistakes people make when looking for a hosting company. They find the cheapest one around. Don’t do this. Your blog is a business. Now I’m not saying that if you spend a lot of money. You’re guaranteed a good hosting service. What I am saying. Do your homework.
You need to know what are the most important features to look for in a hosting company before you start out on your journey. There are features like secure socket layer, private hosting and more.

Building A Better Blog – Creating A Theme For Your Blog
One of the best ways to add personality to your blog is by giving it a theme. This is also a great way to have your blog stand out from your competitors.
With WordPress there are many themes to choose from. These can range anywhere in price from free to literally thousands of dollars. If you’re not ready or not sure what theme to use right now this minute.
You can install a free theme called Astra. Then install a WordPress plugin called Eliminator. With these two components you can make stunning websites. Go here if you want to learn more about themes and the cost associated with them.
One of the things to keep in mind about a theme especially if you’re just starting out. You want to focus on themes that do more in the background for you. You will be able to get your blogging task done quicker without knowing all the WordPress Tech.
Before you start on your theme journey come up with a list of all your wants. Try to write down everything that you will need for your website. Think about the look and feel and the layout that you want to present on your blog pages.

Building A Better Blog – How To Find Content For Your Blog
One of the first rules about the content for your blog. It’s not about you, it’s about your readers.
I can’t tell you how many hours I spent staring at a blank screen in front of my computer.
If I wasn’t staring at a blank screen, I was writing a few paragraphs. Selecting them all and hitting the delete key. Starting over multiple times.
I don’t even want to mention all the time I spent trying to think of content before I sat in front of my computer. This used to be one of the toughest things for me and blogging.
I was always trying to figure out how I could be original with my content so that it stands out amongst my peers.
This by far was the most time-consuming part for my blogging. I dreaded each new day trying to think of what content I would provide to my readers that day.
I kept thinking in the back of my head. There must be an easier way to create content for my blog. I look at other blogs and how much content they are providing on a regular basis. How do they do it?
One day I found out a little secret. I found out what the professional bloggers, or Elite bloggers, whatever you want to call them are doing. Once I did this it made finding content a breeze for my blog.
Building A Better Blog – Things You Need To Know
I’m not sure about you. But when I started my blogging journey. I had tons of questions. It seemed at one point that I had way more questions than answers. When I was getting started out I felt like I was actually going backwards, and not forwards. Just trying to figure out all this blogging stuff was a nightmare.
One of the things I kept thinking about over and over. It’s not so much a question. It’s more of a thought that just kept coming up. Which was constantly reminding me I’m not a writer. I kind of stink at it.
Heck, I’ve never done any blogging before. But my mentor told me. Lamar, the only thing you need to do is practice and more practice. Before you even know it. You’re not only going to get better, but you’re going to love it.
He went on to tell me that there’s a writer in all of us. It’s just up to you to bring it out.
and you know something he was right…
I’m sure you have more questions. I put together a short little article that may answer a few of them.
I put together some questions people have asked me. I wanted to answer them all in one fell swoop.
Building A Better Blog – 3, 2, 1, Blast Off
You’ve done it. Everything’s a go. You’ve got everything in place and contents rolling out.
Now it’s time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Let’s launch this thing.
A launch doesn’t really work without people. You probably don’t have any readers just yet. well, you at least have one. That’s you.
A blog doesn’t necessarily have a launch. You just have to keep putting content out there on a daily basis.
This is the point that you’re going to find it tough to keep going. You got everything in place and you’re creating this content yet no one’s reading.
Keep your eye on the prize.
Remind yourself why you’ve started logging in the first place.
