Are you trying to make money with your blog?
One of the things that bloggers do to make money from their blog is to use Google AdSense. You might be in a position where you can’t run Google Ads on your blog. Maybe you’re just getting started or you don’t have enough traffic to your blog as of yet.
Today in this blog I want to talk about a strategy that could possibly bring more income from your blog than Google AdSense. Definitely, in no way am I telling you not to use Google AdSense.
This is something you should do. I want to talk about a strategy creating an additional revenue stream for your blog. The best thing about this strategy is that anyone can do it. Even if you are just starting out.
Did you ever notice when you’re reading a blog post that they are asking you to sign up for an email list? These are little tiny forms that have a field for your name and another field for your email address. They could be embedded anywhere on the page whether it’s in the middle or on the sidebar of the page. They could also pop out at you when you first come to the page or are just about to leave that page.
These are called email opt-in forms. When you enter your information and click on the submit button. Your information is then sent to what is known as an autoresponder. An autoresponder is simply a big fancy word for their email system.
An autoresponder stores people’s information when they enter in on these opt-in forms. Once they have you on their email list they start sending emails to you promoting their products or services that they have. Hopefully, they’re sending you emails that offer tons of value to the reader.
When a reader comes to the blog post. The goal for the email opt-in form is to have someone enter their information. Let’s say that for every 1000 page views you get 100 of those people entered their information into your opt-in form. This is known as an opt-in rate. Given these numbers, you would have a 10% opt-in rate. That means 10% of the people that came to your page opted in to your email list.
One of the things you need to remember. The higher the opt-in rate number. The more email opt-ins you will get per views. Let’s say you got 200 people they gave you their email address from a 1000 views. This would be a 20% opt-in rate. This means that you got twice as many opt-ins for the same amount of views.
What this means, the more opt-ins you get. The more leads you get for your business. More leads translate into more sales.
If you want to make money with your blog. You need to be constantly considering how to increase your email opt-in rate.

The strategy that I want to talk about today is increasing your opt-in rate for your email opt-in form.
When you’re reading a blog post and you’re looking at their email opt-in form. Have you ever noticed for your information they offer something free in return I’m sure you’ve seen this before?
They would say things like:
? When you subscribe You will receive a free ebook on the top 10 shortcuts for writing a better blog post.
? When you sign up we will send you a free video that will show you how to lose 10 lbs in a week.
? If you sign up today you will have free access to an exclusive membership website.
I’m sure you have seen this many times before. They are giving you something free for your email address. This is a way to entice people to get on their list. I call this an ethical bribe.
…and that’s what I want to talk about today. I’m going to deliver the goods right here.
These are called lead magnets.
A lead magnet is something that you give away for free when somebody enters their personal information into your opt-in form. This is usually an eBook, video, access to a website, or even a coaching session.
You can get lead magnet content from a lot of places. There are websites called private label rights (PLR). You can use these websites to get your lead magnet.
Depending on the content it’s going to cost you anywhere from $10 to maybe $300.
Sometimes the content isn’t always the best. It may not be up to date.
The content may not offer the value that you want to give your customers. The value maybe a little weak or just not fitted or tailored to your product or service.
A lot of times you’re not able to brand this content so that is congruent with your business.
When starting to offer lead magnets. This is exactly what I did. I found content that was already created for me. Then I used it for my lead magnet.
Today I create my own lead magnets. I like to do this because now I can control the content inside the lead magnet.
I want to be able to offer the best value when someone gets a lead magnet. I want to make sure that when they finish they have been delivered value that will help them.
I also want to be able to use my own branding on the lead magnet. Doing this helps to start building a relationship with your leads. A lead is simply a person that has opted into your email list.
When you create your own lead magnets you have complete control over everything.
Now I already know what you’re thinking. You’re already writing a blog, emails, videos, and Facebook lives for your business. Now you want me to find time to create content for my own lead magnets.
You must think I’m crazy?
You might not know it just yet. But you already have content done for your lead magnet. If you are a blogger you have literally tons of content already done for you. That you can use to create beautifully looking magnets.
I want you to think about this for one second.
