Did you just get done creating your account on Pinterest? Or maybe you’re just starting out in wondering how to get your pins noticed.
In today’s blog, I’m going to show you a simple strategy that will get Pinterest to notice your pins. I want to let you in on a little secret. This strategy is used on just about every other social media site. So I’m sure you’re not going to be surprised when you hear about it. But I’m going to fill you in on a few details to help with your success.
I’m going to let you know about a little mistake did I was doing when I first started on my Pinterest journey.
Let me start out by answering the question. Do I need to use hashtags on Pinterest?
The one word answer is yes.
Pinterest Hashtags – What Is It?
Hashtags are phrases used to identify the pin or board about a specific topic. you will recognize a hashtag by the (#) symbol in front of the phrase.
Typical hashtags would look something like:
Pinterest Hashtags – Where do they go?
Your hashtags will be used in two places. They’re going to be used on your pins and boards that you create. I usually include them at the end of my pin descriptions and my board descriptions.
The Pinterest help center says that you can use up to 20 hashtags. In my personal opinion if you use this many your pin description starts to look spammy. In my personal opinion as a general rule, I use 5 hashtags on each pin and board description.
When using hashtags for your pin and board. Make sure they are relevant to that pin. Pinterest will use these hashtags to display your pin every time someone enters the search phrase matching your hashtag.
Pinterest Hashtags – Where Do I Find Them?
You may be asking yourself right now. Which are the best hashtags for me to use? What you want to do is always use the Pinterest platform to create your hashtags. The easiest way to do this is going to the search bar and type in the phrase that you think people will use to find your pin. Pinterest shows your phrase in the drop-down menu with other search phrases. Then take that phrase and turn it into a hashtag.
If you type a phrase in the search bar in Pinterest does not show you any results. Don’t use this phrase. Pinterest is telling you that people are not searching for that phrase. Always use the search bar to create your hashtags.
When I first started my Pinterest journey I was not doing this. I was simply making up my own hashtags. once I start using the Pinterest platform my impression counts we’re increasing for my pins.
Hey, I get it. You don’t feel like reading the article. Check out the video were you and I will go through each detail.
Pinterest Hashtags – Final Thoughts
Remember to always include hashtags for your pins and boards. Create your hashtags by entering phrases in the search bar. Pinterest will show you if people are searching for that phrase by showing the results below the search bar. If your phrase is in those results then copy that phrase. Paste it in your pin description at the bottom. Add your hashtag symbol and remove all the spaces.
That’s it, you’re done!
