Are you having a hard time with people finding you on Pinterest? You’re creating these wonderful looking pins and posting them every day. But for some reason, your pins might as well be invisible. Nobody’s seen them.
In today’s blog, I’m going to talk about the most important thing you can do to get your pins noticed on Pinterest. I remember when I first started using the Pinterest platform this was one of my biggest mistakes I was making for a while.
So without any further Ado let’s get into this.
I’m going to teach you how to do keyword research on Pinterest.
This is something that is very easy to do. But you don’t want to take it too lightly.
Most people think Pinterest is just another social media site. Pinterest is actually more akin to YouTube and Google. Meaning that it’s more search engine than it is a social media site. This is good news for you and me. But, with every platform, you have to understand how to go about using it effectively. That’s why it’s important that you understand how to do keyword research on Pinterest.
Pinterest Keyword Research – What Are Keywords?
Keywords are simply phrases people are searching for on Pinterest. These are the phrases they’re entering in the search bar when they’re looking for something. Now it’s important for you to know exactly what phrases they’re entering in searching for.
The way that you were going to do your research for the right keywords is by using Pinterest itself. This is done by going to the search bar at the top of the page. As you type you’ll see a list of choices drop down below. these are the keywords that you will use within the Pinterest platform.
Pinterest Keyword Research – Find The Keywords In Your Niche
You want to spend a little time searching for keywords in your niche. This is going to take a little time for you to start thinking about different keywords. And it’s these keywords that we’re going to use later.
Let me give you an example. I’m going to go way out of my comfort zone and pick the dieting niche. Let’s say your pins are about fitness and in particular flat abs. The first thing you do is just typing flat abs in the search bar and look at the recommendations that Pinterest is giving you. These are the keywords you want to use.
When I type in flat abs these of the choices that I get:
? flat abs workout
? flat abs challenge 30 days
? flat abs in a week
? flat abs workout lose belly
? flat abs workout at home
? flat abs before and after
Why don’t you go over the Pinterest right now and try it out for yourself?
I’m sure your keyword results will be very similar. Sticking with the dieting niche I would also do keyword research on diet and fitness.
I think you get the idea.
These are the phrases we are going to use later throughout Pinterest. Don’t make the same mistake I made. I did not do any keyword research at all. I was using keywords that I thought people were typing in. Boy was I wrong.
Spend some time doing research in your niche. The payoff for doing this is going to be tremendous. Doing this will also give you other ideas as well. Remember to spend time doing the research it’s well worth it.
Hey, I get it. You don’t feel like reading the article. Check out the video were you and I will go through each detail.
Pinterest Keyword Research – Where In The Heck Do I Use These Keywords
Now that you have a good idea of the keywords you need to use in your niche. Let’s go over the place is where you need to actually use them.
The first place you went to look is at your profile name. Make sure you include some keywords in your name. Separate the keywords with the pipe symbol (|). This is to help Pinterest find them easier.
This would be a typical Pinterest name:
Nancy Smith – Helping you with your fitness and flat abs expert | diet planner
The next place you want to add keywords is in your bio section. just make sure you add one or two keywords here. Pinterest doesn’t give you much space I believe it’s only 130 words. You still want to make use of it.
When you name your boards Make sure you have keywords in the title. Remember how we are doing our keyword research. Do the same thing to find names for your boards. Remember we’re trying to make this easy for Pinterest to find your content.
Speaking of boards you also want to add keywords to the board description. I see a lot of boards on Pinterest without any description. Don’t do this. Take 5 minutes to create a short description and sprinkle a few of your keywords in it.
When you’re creating the pins you also want to think of using your keywords as much as possible. You can add them to the image, the pin title and most definitely in the pin description. Again I want to say I see a lot of pins with no descriptions. These people are missing out on getting more views on their pins.
Pinterest Keyword Research – Keywords, Keywords, And Keywords
If you spent a little time doing keyword research. adding them throughout Pinterest will become second nature for you.
Keywords are such an important component to having Pinterest find your pins. If you’re not doing this today start getting the habit to get it done.
You should be checking your analytics every day on Pinterest. I’m sure after you start adding the keyword you going to be rather pleased with your analytic numbers.
When you follow the short steps you are going to definitely see much better results with Pinterest.
