The content that you were going to create for your blog is the most important part of your blog. Trust me, it’s not how pretty it looks. It’s the content that you give your reader.
I had to break talking about content for your blog into two parts. The reason for this it’s so difficult to get across how important content actually is.This one thing alone books are written on.
And that’s exactly what it takes. A whole book. It can’t be done with one or two articles.
With that in mind, I’m going to go over some of the important questions when it comes to your content.
How Long Should My Articles Be?
The short answer is. They need to be long enough to provide value that helps your audience.
You want to make the blog long enough to provide enough value for your reader. if you can look at your blog and definitely say. your readers will get value from this article. Then you’ve done your job.
If you’re first getting started with blogging. Writing a 2000 word page sounds like a big monumental task. Your goal then should be to write a 300-word page with images and videos on the page. The more writing you do the easier it becomes. You will see over time that your articles will get longer.
The other aspect that you have to consider when writing your blog is SEO (search engine optimization). You are going to find that the better blogs are usually 2000 words. Google engine the almighty search engine that it is. Tends to love lengthy blogs.
My articles are generally around 1000 words today. But when I first got started I had a hard time just coming up with 200 words. The more I did it the easier it got.
I’m Not A Writer, I Stink At It
Like most things in life, we all stink at something that’s new to us. It’s just simply a matter of doing it often and being consistent with it. If you create the discipline and consistency you are going to get better over time. You have this writer inside you. You just have to bring it out.
You’re probably not a bad writer at all. Most of the time we are our own worst critic.
If you haven’t done much blogging or writing in the past. It’s going to take some time to find your rhythm and your voice. You want to write in the way that it doesn’t bore you is your reading your article. Don’t try to write like someone else. When you write use your personality and keeping the blog fun.
This is your chance to take all that content out there on the huge internet and make it your own. Refine it by using your own unique voice and then share it with the world.
Hey, I get it. You don’t feel like reading the article. Check out the video were you and I will go through each detail.
How Often Do I Need To Write An Article?
This could depend a lot on your niche. If you have a niche where there are not too many changes going on. Your content will be more Evergreen. The articles in these niches stay relevant for a much longer time.
If you’re in the niche that is constantly changing with new ideas. Maybe this is a technology or crypto. You’re going to need to provide content on a more regular basis.
Some Last Words
If you’re just starting out with your blog. Odds are you’re not going to be firing on all cylinders. Just write as often as you can with a strong intention of getting better at it.
Don’t worry if you don’t have an audience just yet. They will come. This is a perfect time for you to start practicing and finding your groove. Getting into the flow if you will.
One of the best things that help me to get started with writing. I put myself on a schedule. Don’t go crazy. Start out small. It’s important that you stick to the schedule.
Having the discipline to stay consistent with your writing is going to be your biggest and best friend ever. They’re going to be those days where you just want to throw that laptop out the window. Days when you come home from work or dealing with the kids. We all have them. Those are the days you have to push through.
