Can I get a little real right now?
Since I’m letting the cat out of the bag sharing this blogging content with you. Heck, most pro bloggers don’t want you to know this kind of stuff. I’m not referring to myself as a pro blogger by any means.
To let you in on a little secret. I’m sharing some of the training that I took so that I can share this with you. This is what I’m doing. by getting better results every day with my blog. That’s why I wanted to share this with you.
Now we’re going to get into the exciting stuff.
I can’t hold it inside any longer. No one ever told me that I was good at keeping secrets.
Let’s talk about the first step your lead is going to take in getting to know you and your offer. An offer can be an affiliate product you’re promoting or some service that you are promoting. The offer can also be your own product. Now how do we get a prospect to your offer?
drum roll, please…
THAT’S YOUR SALES FUNNEL.
Before you and I get started with why you need a sales funnel. You need to know what a sales funnel is first.
What Is A Sales Funnel?
The simplest and most basic way that I can explain a sales funnel goes something like this. It’s a path that you take your prospects on. It starts by making them aware of your offer. Then getting them to purchase a product or service that you are selling.
Your prospects go through several stages along their journey. This is where your funnel comes in and how it works.
The Purpose Of A Sales Funnel
Awareness – This is the mouth of the funnel and where their journey begins. This is where you make prospects aware of your solution which may be a product or service. There are many ways in which this can be done. Maybe a prospect stumbles upon a blog post that you have written or a video that you have created on YouTube. You can also make prospects aware through advertising, whether that’s free or paid.
Interest – This is where the prospect starts doing his research. This could be as simple as searching on Google or YouTube by putting in keywords that bring them to your content.
Decision – This is where the prospect moves into your world. They make the decision to give some of their personal information to you. The number one piece of information, of course, is their email address. This is the point in the funnel where the prospect turns into your lead. Now you have the ability to control the content that they see coming from you.
Action – This is the very bottom of the funnel. This is the point in the funnel where the lead decides to make a purchase of your product or service. This is where your lead turns into your customer.
Hey, I get it. You don’t feel like reading the article. Check out the video were you and I will go through each detail.
The purpose of a sales funnel is to take cold leads and start turning them into hot leads. The funnel’s job is to turn a prospect into a customer. A cold lead is a prospect that has never seen your product or heard of you before. The job of the sales funnel is to get them familiar with both. That’s you and your offer. When they read your emails or see you on social media or a video. They start to go from a cold to a warm lead.
The job of your funnel is to start building a know, like, trust relationship with your prospects. It’s very hard to sell any offer too cold traffic. You need to warm them up first.
You need to put yourself in the shoes of your buyer. how does your buyer think?
If you want to go out and buy a new computer. Do you grab the first one that you see? Of course not. You do a little research. Consider the brand the type of specs. you may be an apple Die Hard fan. So your mind is half made up already. There’s nothing wrong with that. Apples doing their job by making you aware.
With your blog, you’re starting from scratch. When someone comes to your page you need to make them become aware of your product. You also need to get them to sign up for your mailing list. This is where you’re taking the prospect in turning them into a lead.
Now that they have signed up for your email list. You can start emailing content to them as often as you would like. In these emails, you were going to offer value and give them a chance to purchase your offer.
How To Create Your Sales Funnel
If you are a blogger and not implementing a sales funnel in your business. You need to rethink and figure out how to work a sales funnel into your blogs. I found that the easiest way to start creating your sales funnel is working from the bottom and then going up.
Followup Email – What this means is I have my email follow-up series created and planned out. This is the first thing I start with. The purpose of these emails is to provide value and guide your leads to your offers.
Blog Page – Your next step will be to create content on your blog. When the prospect comes to your page make sure they can opt into your email from there. You need to think about designing your blog page to be able to do this.
Advertise – This can be done with free or paid methods. The idea here is to get them to your blog page. If you are getting traffic from social media learn how to create posts that will get prospects to click on your links. These links will take them to your blog.
Don’t treat all social media sites in the same way. The way you design your post on Facebook will be completely different than Pinterest or YouTube. But the strategy is the same for each one.
The more prospects you can take through your sales funnel. The better chance you have of converting them to a customer. It’s simply a numbers game. The more people you can get to see your ads or posts. The more prospects you can take through your sales funnel.
And that my friend is what marketing is all about.
